George Rich Colloquium:

The Department of Anthropology invites students, faculty, and staff to the George Rich Colloquium talk by Dr. Megan Raschig, associate professor of Anthropology, about her book, “Healing Movements: Chicanx-Indigenous Activism and Criminal Justice in California,” a project of ‘cultural healing’ as a powerful means of refusing and dismantling colonial and carceral institutions and logistics.

Time: Noon-1:15 p.m.

Date: Thursday, March 13 in the University Union, Cottonwood Suite.

A reception will follow.

Come to learn how through engaged ethnography with formerly gang-involved individuals, we see the creativity of everyday abolitionist work to build a social movement through cultura, ceremony and love, amid police brutality and attempted prison expansion.
